Karkelo

Closing out the week of K's on a band that is fitting of the drinking weekend. Korpiklaani is a Finnish Folk Metal band who write about nature and booze. It's a winning combo. 'Karkelo' which loosely translates into Party, marks the bands 6th album. Not a whole lot has changed for this band. Nature and Booze remain the two central themes here. Cuts like 'Vodka' and 'Bring Us Pints Of Beer' pretty much sum up the record. It's folk metal and party metal. Perfect album for a Friday full of drinking.

Korpiklaani is another one of those bands you either like or loathe. Same boat say as Finntroll. It's drinking music, I mean lets deconstruct the opening track, 'Vodka'. A sample of the lyrics..."Vodka, you're feeling stronger, Vodka, no more feeling bad, Vodka, your eyes are shining Vodka, you are the real MAN Vodka, wipes away your tears Vodka, removes your fears Vodka, everyone is gorgeous..." Simple enough message right? It continues til we hit pay dirt with, "Drinking is good for you, and you will feel awesome". There's really not much more to tell here. Drink and drink often.
